Poland name Robert Lewandowski in squad

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has been picked in Poland’s squad for the 2022 World Cup.

The 34-year-old also played in 2018, when Poland qualified for the first time in 12 years.

Aston Villa defenders Jan Bednarek and Matty Cash, and midfielder Krystian Bielik, who is on loan at Birmingham City from Derby, are the three England-based players in the squad.

Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski and Juventus forward Arkadiusz Milik also feature.

Poland, managed by Czeslaw Michniewicz, play Mexico on 22 November, Saudi Arabia on 26 November and Argentina on 30 November in Group C.
